This afternoon, Verandah Prive presented the Summer/Resort 2016 collection, taking you on a journey through the several shades of Matisse. Inspired by the work of this Fauvist French master printmaker, draughtsman and painter, the late Henri Matisse (1869-1954), Verandah Prive’s collection highlights elements from one of his more obscure paintings “Interior with Eggplants”
Spotted sitting front row were: Pernia Qureshi, dressed in Verandah,Priya Tanna, Editor of Leading Fashion Magazine, Vogue, dressed in Verandah, AD & Sabina Singh,Sandeep Khosla, Saudamini Mattu, Sabina Chopra, Editor of Leading Fashion Magazine, Vogue, Shaana Levy Bahl and many more.
True to the brand’s ethos of ultra soft and relaxed styles, the silhouettes this season are bohemian and chic, pairing summer ready staples in strong florals, stripes and solids. Maxis make a comeback with fuss free ease as the perfect travel companion, while the off shoulder dresses, tapered jackets with wide leg pant suits, transports you right back to the 70s.
The colour palette for the season ranges from muted shades of maroon offset with hues of soft blue, mustard yellow, grey and white. Playing with fabrics such as linen, chamois satin, organza and tencil, show the intricacies of manipulating fabrics to create one of a kind silhouettes. The collection is easy enough to go from city to countryside.
