When human fights cannot ensure ratings, bring on a tech twist in the reality tale. That seems to be the desperate lunge at garnering some viewership for Bigg Boss in its season 8, currently on air and floundering like never before in its bid to gather big TRPs.

The show introduced something wonkily titled as the App Task for housemates, who were naturally elated because the task apparently ensured some happy surprises in the end.

Happy’, though, cannot be the operative word for Bigg Boss. So, housemate Sonali Raut had to play spoilsport, in a way that left Praneet Bhatt sulking. It’s like this: Sonali used up 48% of the battery allotted, while utilising two apps during the App Task. By the time Sonali’s co-contestant Praneet was called in the activity room, battery power had come down to 26%.
Praneet was initially happy because the App Task would let him meet his girlfriend Kanchan, who was at 32% battery. That was when he realised at 26%, he was 6% short of being eligible to use the Love App and meet Kanchan.

That, however, was not what made him cry. Soon after, Gautam Gulati was lucky enough to meet his mother using the App after a battery recharge, which left Praneet looking like a very moist-eyed loverboy indeed.
