When its beach and resort wear, the inspiration has to be the sun, sea and sands. The glorious “Dawn to Dusk” and “Ocean Distortion” collections created by the students of Rachna Sansad School of Fashion and Textile Design at the India Resort Fashion Week 2012 opened Day Two with glamour and glitz.
Femininity was the core idea of the creations as vivid jungle prints with stunning ombré effect gave a new dimension to resort fashion.
The show opened with the hot ombré orange gown with palm print in georgette followed by a halter layered version, while tiny yellow hot pants completed the trio. Shades of the ocean came alive in the 16 creations with prints in sea green and aqua blue for asymmetric tops, slit leg printed jumpsuits and off the shoulder blouson top. Flowing sheer halters, cross over tops and moulded drop waist dresses with slashed layered skirts or sheer long trails were great resort wear.
Moving into a rich purple story of abstract jungle prints, the asymmetric dresses some with gold bodice with cutaway armholes, and multi coloured ocean prints added to the glamour of the garments. The eye catchers were the Grecian gown in shaded purple, while the glittering fitted bodice creation with gold pin tucked trails made impressive evening wear.
Finally it was the ruffled corsage inspired mini with the raised collar, the multi shredded fish tail gown and the sensuous long vision all in shades of blue that were a fitting end to a glamorous show.
Bringing together the two distinct visuals of “Dawn and Dusk” and the “Ocean Distortion” looks the hair and makeup matched the beauty and style of the creations.
Here was a great mix of style and elegance from fresh young 15 students of the Rachna Sansad School of Fashion and Textile Design, which revealed that the future of fashion was in safe hands.
